The Australian Labor Party has endorsed Karen McKeown as its candidate for the seat of Penrith at the 2027 New South Wales State Election.

Since being elected to the NSW Parliament in 2023, Ms McKeown has been a strong local advocate for Penrith, fighting for investment in essential services, infrastructure, health, education and community safety across the electorate.

A proud Penrith local and long-serving community representative, Ms McKeown previously served on Penrith City Council for two decades, including two terms as Mayor, before being elected for the seat of Penrith in 2023.

Ms McKeown said she was honoured to again have such strong community support and looked forward to continuing to serve the Penrith community.

“It is an incredible privilege to represent the people of Penrith and one I never take for granted,” Ms McKeown said.

“Penrith is my home, and I will continue working every day to deliver for local families, small businesses, schools, sporting groups and community organisations.”

“We have made important progress over the past term, but there is a lot more work to do to ensure our growing community has the necessary infrastructure and services it deserves.”

Ms McKeown said key priorities for the next term would include strengthening local healthcare services, improving transport and road infrastructure, supporting cost-of-living relief measures, and continuing to deliver more local jobs.
