Greater Western Sydney is set to benefit from a healthcare milestone, with Nepean Radiology in Penrith becoming the first medical imaging practice in the Southern Hemisphere to launch the GE HealthCare Revolution Vibe CT, the latest in diagnostic medical technology.

This breakthrough marks a major step forward for patients and clinicians in one of the state’s fastest growing regions, as Greater Western Sydney is expected to be home to more than six million people by 2041. With health services in increasing demand, the new Revolution Vibe CT is designed to deliver faster, more consistent, and higher-quality imaging for all patients, regardless of complexity.

Unlike conventional CT scanners which can take 25 to 30 minutes, the Revolution Vibe CT can complete examinations in just 10 minutes. The system’s advanced features, including a wide detector range of 16cm and automatic camera-guided positioning, streamline the process, while automation of steps such as selecting the correct protocol or scan mode reduces preparation time. This innovation allows clinicians to dedicate more time to patient care and interpreting results.

This investment reinforces Western Sydney’s position at the forefront of medical innovation, ensuring communities have local access to world-class technology and care.
