State News 22 October 2024

22 October 2024

It’s time to honour our fabulous Penrith women. I encourage Penrith residents to celebrate the positive role women play in our community by nominating them for the 2025 Local Woman of the Year Awards.
Do you know a woman who has gone above and beyond?

The Local Woman of the Year Awards is an annual program to recognise and celebrate the contributions of a local woman aged 18 years and over.

I am excited to announce that due to the quality of the nominations in 2024, I will be continuing to run the Local Young Woman of the Year to celebrate the brilliant contributions our younger women make across Penrith.

As women currently equate for approximately 52% of Penrith’s population, these awards shed a spotlight on their remarkable achievements and contributions within our community.

Nominees over 30 will be considered for the Local Woman of the Year Award 2025, with Women aged 18-30 considered for the Local Young Woman of the Year Award 2025.

The successful Local Woman will receive:
• Framed certificate signed by the Premier, Minister for Women, and myself,
• Invitation to the NSW Women of the Year Awards Ceremony on Thursday, 6 March 2025, and
• Inclusion in the Honour Roll printed in the NSW Women of the Year Awards Ceremony program and listed on the Women NSW website.

The successful Local Young Woman will receive:
• Certificate signed by myself.

If you know a woman who helps make our community diverse, inspiring, and dedicated to positive change, nominate her for the Local Woman of the Year Awards. Together, let’s acknowledge those whose commitment and passion define the Penrith community.
Who do you think should be Penrith’s Local Woman and Young Woman of the Year for 2025?

Nominations close Monday 28 October 2024, 11:59pm.
